>>>> relplyer and realjukebox are free. If you bought the plus version you are entitled to updates for 1 year...just do the upgrade and you will have the current player.....Your Jukebox isn't working because the product is out of beta, just do the free upgrade. <<<<

Pruguy, I have much respect for your posts on this board, but this is the situation if you want to upgrade. You enter your Realplayer ID number and get this message...

"RealPlayer 7 Plus is available to current RealPlayer Plus customers for just $19.99 ? a $10 savings ? with a 30-day money back guarantee. Order now and you will receive:

Instant download access to RealPlayer 7 Plus beta
The final version of RealPlayer 7 Plus when it becomes available
30 days of software upgrades
90 days of phone support on the final release "

I noticed that I could become a subscriber to realplayer, but that will cost me $29.99 for one year of free upgrades. I'm not trying to be a cheapscape here, but I think that Real is going down the wrong path (at this point in the company's life). Like I said before, I already paid once for the Realplayer 6 G2, and that was within the past year. I realize also that I can keep downloading the beta of Realjukebox, but I think it is inconvenient to users to make them keep doing this.

Just my 2 cents...

Pru,

IMO, RNWK will not have the dominance it has had in the past. iCast will be huge and will definitely take market share from real. iCast is backed by CMGI and MSFT, who incidentally just pumped 30m into ITVU. iCast is described as "online entertainment company" with "chat, instant messaging and media search capability, which includes a database of more than 1500 constantly updated, live streams from around the world." I also feel that the rumors concerning YHOO and RNWK could be true, Cuban and Glasser, as we all know don't like each other. Maybe YHOO is waiting for the iCaster release later this month to announce the switch.

As far as myself using WiMP, I just feel the quality is better, buffering about the same, and for some reason less net congestion.

Pru, don't get me wrong, I still think RNWK is a great company, but I also feel they may be about to loose their edge. I will still trade the stock, but as far as a core holding, I'll take a wait and see approach.

Bong

hi board,
i'm following real for a quite long time but did buy it just
about 2 months ago.

i don't think that icast and realguide are in direct competition. as i understood wetherell icast i more ment to
be a plattform for creativity and less known artists and
publishers than a commercial mediaportal how i understand realguide. icast is a really exciting idea. it is supposed
to establish a new "market" via the internet (like ebay did with c2c sales).

i don't see msft as a real problem for real yet. as anybody
is able to use realplayer for free.

see current price drop as a buying opportunity (i think one analyst did as well)

:-)
