My hat is off to Carl and Scumbria for stating their position in advance and they both have a right to crow about it now.

I agree; however my point was not concerned with timing but rather the reaction once the info is disclosed. Typically on this thread, the prominent reaction is one of derision and ridicule. Certainly that's what happened when the two I mentioned made their disclosures.

Looks like the Alpha benefits most from the new test. With SPEC Int 2000, Coppermine gets beat by the Alpha, unlike in the 95 version.
