You were right on with that post. I have to say, condescension as a form of terminating an argument has to be one of the most annoying "debate" techniques (if you can call it that). I don't think I know anyone that would ever participate in a discussion and close with "I don't have time to explain it to you" (particularly regarding a topic such as, high tech economics where the "explainee" is clearly more knowledgeable) and expect the other participants not to feel a tinge of hostility. Same with a "congratulations, that is much more insightful than your usual..." blah blah. I mean, lets call a spade a spade is all I'm saying - this is rudeness, not eloquence, and almost always out of line with respect to the position of the other party.

I guess Ish and Neocon will have to discuss with Vaughn the relative offensiveness of "Danny Boy" versus "Billy Boy". Londonderry Aire is a nicer melody, anyway. Hope there's a football game on tonight, though. Pretty mellow here after the morning passed. Cheers, Dan.
