Hi Bob,...Maybe Jeb would hire me as a speechwriter <G>. I suppose I would have to clean up a little of the sarcasm, but we don't have to continue this charade (the court case) into the next millenium to a bitter conclusion. I keep thinking that if Jeb knew that there was an alternative like I proposed to this case, He would go for it. I hope there is not some reason that the CCO insiders might have for rejecting the idea. I am concerned that some aspect of their deal to share in the proceeds of any final settlement might be derailed by a settlement deal like I have proposed. Another aspect of my compromise deal to delay drilling is that the dollar numbers can be negotiated over a wide range to account for better estimates of how much oil is at stake there. In my mind, a deal like I have been suggesting ought to be the starting place for any negotiations. Otherwise, the potential magnitude of the oil find could leave a wide gap in the bargaining position of the parties.
