Hi Mike:

The problem with LMDS equipment is that everyone is
aiming at 30% of the market: NN, ALA, Siemens/PCMS,
LU/Netro, CSCO/MOT... I am not even mentioning Ericsson,
Hughes, or newer companies such as Ensemble Communications.

It is also useful to remember that 2 architectures are
currently being advocated: the point to multipoint (P-MP)
architecture, or the ring fast Ethernet architecture
advocated by Triton and ARTT. The latter is just like
an ordinary wired network, but without wires. Note
that this second architecture can perhaps be viewed as
a forerunner of optical wireless rings. Maybe I lack
imagination, but I still like the P-MP approach.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
