Jay,...I think that many people overlooked the value of owning ZD purely as an intelligence gathering operation. I guess that should include Comdex too. In many cases, it was better than being an insider at one of the individual companies. Son seems to be the consumate insider. We'll see when they announce the allocation of frequencies to his (along with Microsoft and Tepco) wireless ISP in Tokyo. I'm from Chicago and I used to shop at the Land's End store there in the 60's. At that time they sold no clothes. Only yachting supplies. <G>. Actually they did have some foul weather gear and some waterproof boots <G>. Not too stylish.
