Russ - they might. If it is a compatibility problem it is not the modem or software on your end, there may be something on the CPQ web site about it. I had a similar problem a while ago with a US Robotics modem which I upgraded from the USR X2 standard to the newer standard - USR had me alter the modem settings (actually in the modem not the computer software) to only attempt retrain "down". That meant that the initial connect speed would be the best I would get for any session but the "hang" problem went away. If there is nothing on the CPQ site, maybe you could get some help from Rockwell.

BTW - have you thought about DSL, since you have the capability? It's about 30 times faster than the 56K connection...
