FYI, for what is is worth. I am a member of the executive staff of one of AMAT's biggest divisions, and I hold thousands of AMAT in Options, 401k and ESPP. Because of this, I will not contribute too much to the thread, "insider ya know". NVLS is a good rider to mimic AMAT, so is LRCX.
But, you guys haven't been wrong much as I see it. And I can contribute to some level.

I do PnF daily for 16-20 different stocks. Using PnF, I correctly call NVLS low last week with a buy that gave 10% in days, only to miss the 30% gain that followed. I never know when to get out. INTC, CAT, Eggs and a few other gave a fund return of 15-20% quarterly.

Typically, do daily charts for

AMAT
TAN, I bought last week with a big over-sold indicator from William?s %R

PWR
INTC
AMD
NSM
IBM
LU
MU
DELL
CSCO
ORCL
COMS
NVLS
MOT
LRCX
EGRP
AAPL

My plan is to monitor the biggies, and buy when dropped and sold when high. Sounds easy, But with PnF and Williams %R the options expirations for the third Friday is almost predictable.

Just my thoughts.

Gottfried and Others,

RE "I wonder where Tito is; probably spending his gains.<g>"

It's true, for the past two weeks I spent some of my gains with people I've not seen for 25 years in the town of my birth in the Philippines. The town when I left for the US was a Deadend town at the foot of the mountains where the Japanese General Yamashita's Tank Division met its deadly end in WW II. Now, the town is the site of a Dam being constructed that when completed in 2004 will be the Biggest in Asia. The town is just below Baguio, the City of the Pines high up the mountains where the government holds court each year during hot summer. Some Japanese companies are going to develop the town as a tourist attraction (Water Skiing, Boating, Fishing). The town should serve also as recreation area for employees of Electronic companies like Texas Instruments located in Baguio City.

When I left Dec 17, AMAT was at 115. Now that I'm back the stock is back to 115 after going up as high as 129 during my absence. At least the AMAT StairCase Construction Workers behaved well during my absence --- staying between 120 and 130 (my predicted High for the year 1999)...
