Funny...the "committee" is comprised of quite a few MS folk. They have been aggressively pushing XML. You'll notice the MS IE4/5 browsers are the only ones that support the XML standard i.e. have a built-in XML parser. Nonetheless, it will be adopted because it is more robust than HTML.

I agree w/you ... what's the big deal?
