That guy is the Ralph Nader of the investment world. In fact he even dresses like Nader. Nothing positive comes out of his mouth, and next to nothing ever comes true about what he says.

Ruff,
Thank goodness there's still a few bears left. The day Grant goes bullish is the day we should all cash out. Thanks for the post - we need a wall of worry to scale. Good trading!!

Grant-QCOM-Tech-Market...Had to jump in...

When Grant accomplishes for his shareholders, what Jacobs has accomplished for his, then maybe it's time to listen to Grant. But until then...

Grant is dead wrong about comparing the telegraph to the Internet. On this thread alone, we've made millions of dollars due to the Internet. Could we have done this 20 years ago without the Internet? I couldn't have. Even though twenty years ago was more than 120 years since the telegraph was invented. With just a telephone and a newspaper, absent the net, I wouldn't have had a chance. Instantaneous communication, combined with content, is power. Pure transmission, ala telegraph, is only a subset.

In addition to instantaneous communication transmissions, we still need the content that the Internet allows. Unless we have instantaneous transmission capability as well as valuable content, we cannot transfer wealth from the Grant followers to ourselves. That's what differentiates us from the Jim Grant followers. Even though the telegraph allowed for instantaneous communication, it was only for a select few at moments few and far between. We can do this moment to moment. Faster than the old guard. It's really that simple. Speed and information is power and wealth.

Grants is the Cadillac publication on the credit markets, like bonds, with some tangential expertise on currency

this article reminds me of a reknown football coach attempting to peddle commentary on the baseball universe

next batter up

turkey opinion on tech stocks and internet
he doubtless poopoos the new economic paradigm

smart guy, but a stock market loser
he probably is a major holder of consumer stocks such as Gillette, Coke, and P&G (Proctologist & Gamblers)
