Stew...when you have time...

it would be great if you could give all of us a quick primer of Gemstar role in all of the major products trying to acquire viewers on the video screen right now. I have read all the reports and tried to keep it straight, but admit to a little confusion. For example, is Gemstar involved in all Satellite systems? All Set-top boxes? If WebTV/Echostar partnership roars, how does GMST profit? If DirectTV/TIVO partnership comes out, where does AOL/TV fit in? How does GMST prosper?

Sorry to be so dense, but man this stuff is hard to keep track of. My preferred answer is, of course, no matter what technology prevails, or who wins, ...Gemstar wins.
