am by no means a pro-tax person, but I think the lack of sales tax on the internet is irrational and grossly unfair for other b&m businesses. Maybe the overall rate should be reduced (to account for additional tax revs) and internet taxed. The Federal Government put a moratorium on internet sales tax for three years which I believe expires the end of this year. Their reasoning was to help the internet get started although I did not agree with that decision. The .coms are lobbying for an extension of this moratorium but I doubt they will get it.
