I am sorry, but you have lost me entirely. What innovations in the reading of the text of the Constitution are you talking about?

Is it not as possible that America went through a sort of Dark Ages after the demise of the Founding Fathers, dominated by Christianity, racism, sexism, etc., and that we are just now coming out of it?

I do note that Abraham Lincoln did not think much of Christianity, either.
