SiC can (theoretically at least) do stuff that no amount of clever engineering can produce with other materials, and CREE is ahead of the pack. It is very early in the SiC R&D game, yet CREE is already a real company, earning real money. Because of it's early stage my perception is that it is probably the riskiest stock I own, but also one that has barely touched it's future possibilities.
