Thanks Fatboy, hadn't seen hard numbers like that before:

<Assuming an average of 6 cylinders and one sensor per cylinder that could get you to roughly a 100 mil>

<The latest price I saw referencing the LED's was 8 cents.>

Yes but remember that the current number as far as I've seen is $1 to CREE per cell phone sold. With new generation 'browser phones' and 'hand held devices' of all kinds that number could easily triple. It seems to me that other potential uses for LED's are popping up all the time, and unlike SiC chips, this expanding market wouldn't entail anything much new from CREE?

Thanks for the insight, comments on my LED statements anyone??

Great stuff here, especially the stock price! :)

You would have to sell a lot more LED's to equate that level (of course the applications are more ubiquitous).

i recall the ceo stating the price is in the 0.30-0.35 range.
last conference call, i believe.
i have been in an on-going debate about whether 6 cree leds in 5% of nokia's cell phones will get cree $1.50 or $2.00 per in revs.
i think cell phones might meet david's mass market criteria.
