Seems right to me, Maurice.

The biggest Y2K problem we experienced (so far, though it may be a wee bit premature to declare victory) has been the same problem we get around any holiday: holiday schedules.

Many businesses have security systems that automatically lock/unlock doors on a daily schedule. These need special holiday schedules to tell the system not to use the normal schedule. Failure to enter holiday schedules can result in empty buildings with buildings with unlocked front doors.

Of the forty or so accounts I remote manage (the computer that runs their access control system via modem is in my office so customers do not have to deal with the software) I had three of these on Friday and one today.

Of course, all of our active accounts have maintenance agreements, so all of their software was upgraded at least once this year.

Even so, we had three clients pay triple time for one of our techs to be on-site at midnight. (Not me, I was snug as a bug fifteen minutes after my 45 year old juvenile delinquent neighbor finished setting off their very cool and illegal fireworks.)
