IDC is a patent house. They file patents on everything and sue for greenmail. Q sued them early on, and made a deal to get rid of them. The tie-ends they have with Nokia, etc are more attempts at greenmail.

It was getting almost offensive that we would even consider
IDC, a company that's main source of revenue is lawsuit proceeds. As someone else posted they are squishy at the core and shouldn't be allowed to slime up this fine thread.
