Carl & Intel Investors - A Very Interesting Tale of a Short Seller !

Only Slightly Off Topic

David Tice - of the Prudent Bear Fund - appears on CNBC quite often and bashes everything
that has made America great.

According to CNBC reports, he recently helped send shares of TYCO plummeting on his
assertions of accounting irregularities.

To illustrate the often (but not always) incompetence of CNBC's reporters, no CNBC person
has ever forced - or even politely ASKED - David Tice to reveal his Prudent Bear Fund's
performance over the past few years.

Oh....what a story they MISSED !!!

Mr. Tice has kindly posted his annual reports on his Web Site:

prudentbear.com

His latest - dated 9/30/99 - has revealed the following :

From 12/28/95, a $10,000 investment in Prudent Bear's No Load Shares was worth - as
of 9/30/99 - $4,910 !!! while an "equivalent" investment in the Nasdaq was now worth
$26,359 !!!

BOZO TICE wiped out over 50% of his clients investments from 12/28/95 to 9/30/99 - and
the NASDAQ has SOARED SPECTACULARALY since 9/30/99 - probably wiping out his
clients' money by an even more staggering amount !

I can't wait for Tice to post his most recent results !

I encourage everyone to DOWNLOAD his semi-annual report at the URL:

prudentbear.com

In the report, he lists hundreds of stocks he has shorted - most stocks which have improved
greatly (Intel, Dell, Ciena) as well as stocks that have SOARED recently - including Ancor
Communications (which has nearly TRIPLED since 9/30/99 - since Intel announced an
investment in Ancor ), Cisco, Amazon, Egghead, NVidia, Motorola !!!

This man is taking his clients' money and making it DISAPPEAR - sending it to MONEY
HEAVEN !

I expect to hear "Big Things" from Mr. Tice - such as liquidation of his fund (if there is any
money left) if this BULL MARKET continues.

Paul

Cheers,

CNBC host: "The theory about the Internet is, 'You have all these websites, how are you going to store them.'"

David Bayer : "Yes, there is an interesting emerging opportunity, we talked about it last time with Veritas, in managing the data. This (Ancor) is managing the data at the hardware level, using something called the Storage Area Network Fabric.
The idea of the SANs, as they are called, is that you don't want to have a bottle-neck going through the server in managing all the data that is being collected for the Internet.
So you want to do a Switched Fabric to move the data to all the data servers very efficiently, and this (Ancor) is one of the two leading
companies in that. The other is Brocade, which is a very good company, but I think that this one (Ancor) has a more interesting valuation in
terms of market cap to revenues." >>>
