Joey - <Can you speculate on how difficult it will be for AMD to put the L2 on the Athlon core?>

Can't really know for sure. I believe their SRAM cells / design rules are significantly tighter vs. Intel's P858, which theoretically would make yields more difficult. I wam very curious how well the Thunderbirds on die cache will be precieved as being designed, as compared to the Coppermine.

<What time-frame might that be & do you think Williamette can be released at around the same time?>

I can't comment on unnounced product release dates until mgmt does :-/. They have said it will be this year, and there are leaked Marketing roadmaps floating around the net whcih clearly indicate this, so one might surmise it should be close.

I will be curious how well the i8xx platforms compare in these (OCUS R20) tests. I would think compared to the BX, i840 particularly would perform very well vs. this benchmark suite. There are some scores posted on the net, but as Anand points out, specific detailed system configurations are not disclosed or controlled vs. other systems with results posted.

Any other comments form the experts in this area would be appreciated.
