I agree and since I don't have the disposition and the discipline to day trade, position trade or long term investing is all I am capable of.. And since I subscribe to Mr. Goodman aka Adam Smith's position that "If you don't know who you are, the stock market is an expensive place to find out", I try to control my impulses... :o)

Here's one that's way undervalued...SEMX.

SEMX is involved in the manufacture of specialty materials that support the telecommunications and semiconductor industries, both of which are currently booming. I expect at least a 50% gain in 3 months. See their website at semx.com.

The stock is sitting at just over $7, with earnings to be reported in late January. The past 3 quarters eps have been $.69 (including one-time gain on sale of subsidiary), $.16, and $.19. I expect 4th quarter to come in at $.20 or better, making trailing P/E only about 6. In Q4 of 1998 they restructured their balance sheet and took a loss for the quarter. That's why the earnings for the past 12 months are negative. When Q4 1999 earnings are announced, the loss will be erased and the low P/E will show on stock screeners.

Revenue is still holding well and climbing despite selling off an entire profitable division in early 1999. I expect to see a steady increase in revenue in 2000. Backlog is very strong, and Polese Company (a subsidiary) just finished a major expansion. The company suffered a lot from an industry slowdown in 1997, just as they made a major acquisition. They have done a great job shoring up financials and turning the company around.

Only 6 million shares outstanding, and insiders own 1/3, so only 4 million in the float. Book value is $5.21 per Yahoo. Annual revenue is currently in the $70 million range, and market capitalization is only $45 million. What a steal.

Disclaimer- I own shares of SEMX. I am not a broker or advisor. Do your own DD.
