That surprises me a little. France was always a big supporter of the US in its early battles with England.

But what do I know except a lot of Americans are woefully ignorant of other cultures.

OT: CD - That is one of the things that surprises me. During the war, the US and France were very close ........ but now, every time I hear of someone going to France, they come back and say that although it is beautiful, the people make it so they don't want to go back. I have heard stories that you wouldn't believe. But I am sure, the visiting French say the same thing about their visits here to the U.S.
