RESEARCH ALERT - Tyco reiterated as strong buy
NEW YORK, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown said Monday it reiterated Tyco (NYSE:TYC - news) with a strong buy rating and a 12-month price target of $81 per share.

-- ``Once the SEC inquiry (reviewing acquisition charge and reserving practices) is concluded (March 2000 at the earliest), investors should recognize Tyco's strong fundamental prospects. We do not expect any meaningful restatements from the inquiry.'

-- ``Tyco offers the 'complete package' for investors, in our view, with strong internal growth, plus free cash flow and acquisition acumen.'

-- ``We are initiating EPS estimates for Tyco for the first fiscal quarter of $0.46, for the second quarter of $0.53, for the third quarter of $0.59 and for Q4 of $0.65.'

-- ``Tyco should beat First Call consensus estimates of $0.45 by at least a penny, in our view.'

-- ``We expect first-quarter EPS growth to be driven by cost savings from AMP and US Surgical
