Positives:

ASP's may be higher than originally projected due to new products and price stability.

Memory prices should be dropping sharply in January.

RDRAM is now shipping.

DELL's new RDRAM systems are high end and have better margins than the low end systems.

PowerEdge 8450 should be shipping now.( this is the new high end server)

Notebook demand is greater than supply of LCD's.

Prices were flat to up on Notebooks and Desktop systems.

Coppermine processor and certain speed grades of other Pentium processor should be available in January as demand by IBM, CPQ, HWP, and GTW drops abruptly as they reduce inventory.

Sales of $400-600 PC's were off in October, November and December as channel prices went up and and features went down. This may have shifted consumer sales more toward the 899 range where DELL does a lot of its business.

The New DELL consumer PC probably added 100 to 200 K units to unit sales for Q4.

Negatives:

LCD, CD and some other parts had higher than normal prices in Oct and Nov.

RDRAM could not ship until Dec 15.

Memory prices were somewhat higher in Nov and DEC but not as bad as October.

:)
