I used to use my lowly Mac all the time but then when I decided to get a new computer I gave.. got a pc... and have been using Netcrash until recently.. started using IE....

must be something in the water

I know what your mean, there are perhaps a dozen Macs floating around here going all the way back to a Plus. There was even a ][e that I threw out a short while ago. But now I really only use one of them.

I prefer Netscape, so I'm sticking with that. I find, while asking questions on this thread, that I am evidently unclear. For example, I was pretty certain I conveyed the idea that this was a different machine with a different browser.

It's easier to work this stuff out myself. I guessed at the fix for the problem a few weeks ago. Just now, I forgot that the DWA site was up on this machine and was looking at the Mac. My son came in, glanced, and immediately said "you need to change your fixed font; it's set up as variable".

Bingo; that was the only answer I needed. It fixed it. Way too simple. I might even have realized it myself were it not for the fact that I made it more complex by thinking about it. So it's fine now. Another reason to delay downloading Communicator, I guess.
