2+2=4. This is hard to doubt. But the outstanding question in the philosophy of mathematics turns out to be why?

All the numbers and operators in math are defined and accepted as such. Its similar to us 'accepting' your SI alias as Homer Pigeon irrespctive of your real name(s)or other alias(es).

Philosophy cannot invade assigned definitions.
