I liked the last line of this post that was answering a concern about the wireless 'competition'. From the fool thread by 'elijar'

DSL in my opinion is the main point of contention. That said, it is a service being deployed by inept Telcos. Like ISDN before it, it is more expensive, slower, and has fewer options. Wireless is another great alternative. But like DSL it is inferiorly slow and exorbitantly priced. Oh, and there is the problem with solar eclipses too.

the word is out from knowledgeable sources that you're always WRONG.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....you're starting to talk to yourself. Just make sure you let us all know when it is that you make your next WRONG move.

I did a demo of the @home service for my husband's football buddies yesterday. They were duly impressed (it was MP3 and Shockwave cartoons that suckered them in) and ready to go out and get the service....one problem, they all live in the city and are in the area that hasn't decided whether it's T or Comcast (part of the swap). As they were leaving one says to me, "After seeing this you expect me to go home and use my crappy dialup?" I said, "Get on the list for the service, they need to know you are going to buy it when it comes around, they are upgrading the areas that have requests for service first."

I drive into work today (in the city) and low and behold a truck and some guys feeding HFC into a manhole in front of the studio. It won't be long.
