JWEB and EFNT---> Juno and Efficient Networks Form Broadband Alliance; Juno To Use Efficient's
Technology Nationwide

Business Editors/High Tech Writers

DALLAS and NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2000--Juno Online
Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JWEB), a leading provider of Internet-related
services, announced today that it is teaming with Efficient Networks,
Inc. (NASDAQ:EFNT), a leading supplier of broadband Internet access
products, to make Juno's new broadband Internet service, Juno
Express(SM), easier for consumers to use.
Members of Juno Express will be able to use Efficient's
state-of-the-art digital subscriber line (DSL) modems to get the most
out of their high-speed access to the Internet. Juno Express is
provided by Juno through a relationship with Covad, one of the largest
national DSL providers, and is currently being pilot tested in
selected markets. Juno plans to roll the service out in markets
throughout the country during the year 2000.
"Juno Express is a terrific consumer DSL product that will make
Juno a major player in the high-speed Internet access marketplace.
We're thrilled to be part of this project," said Jeff Bergstrom,
director of channel programs at Efficient Networks. "The combined
strength of Juno and Efficient Networks will help pave the way for
rapid deployment of new DSL services that leverage the ease-of-use
features of our SpeedStream equipment."
As part of its agreement with Efficient, Juno will become a
member of the Efficient SpeedStream(TM) Partner (ESP) program. The ESP
program allows providers of Internet services to offer affordable and
reliable DSL customer premise equipment (CPE) to consumers and
businesses. The industry-leading SpeedStream DSL CPE product line
includes easy-to-use routers and modems designed to provide the best
installation and online experience available. Through the ESP program,
Efficient enables Internet service providers, competitive local
exchange carriers, and value-added resellers to successfully grow
their businesses in the broadband communications market.
"Efficient Networks is a leader in the DSL space and we are
delighted to have their support as we roll out Juno's broadband
services," said Wendy Rosenberg, Juno's vice president for
telecommunications. "Juno Express should be even more attractive to
consumers thanks to the state-of-the-art equipment we can offer
through our agreement with Efficient Networks."
