FLAT TVS FOR 'ONLY' $6995

January 4, 2000 -- Wall-hanging plasma TVs initially cost well over $10,000 for a 42-inch screen. Now Fujitsu, one of the top suppliers of flat-screen TVs, is lowering the price to a mere $6995 list. To put this in perspective, you can buy a 56-inch widescreen HDTV-ready TV and a digital set-top box for that much. Still, the cool factor of hanging a video screen on your living room wall cannot be denied. "The PDS-4203 SlimScreen is the lowest priced Plasma Display Panel (PDP) in the marketplace," stated Tedd Rozylowicz, VP sales and marketing for Fujitsu General. The company was the first to sell flat screen TVs commercially in the U.S. Now if they could get one for around $1500, that would be really something.
