Actually, Nokia had the good sense to jump on the Qualcomm CDMA bandwagon at the beginning of the decade, but failed to convert their licences into saleable products. Now they are scrambling like hell to gain a position.

CDMA ASICs were not easy to make. They couldn't get their software going. They sent CDMA handsets out to sell, but did not do well at all [according to reports we've had in SI].

Nokia will surely cut the nonsense and buy ASICs and software from Qualcomm, get their huge marketing machine geared up and leverage their tremendous brand into the CDMA realm.
