Parametric Technology sees lower Q1 EPS
WALTHAM, Mass., Jan 3 (Reuters) - Parametric Technology Corp. said on Monday that it expects earnings per share to fall to $0.04 to $0.06 for the first quarter ended Jan. 1, 2000, with revenues 12 percent below estimates of $274 million.

In last year's first quarter, the company's revenues totaled $250 million and its net income totaled $30 million or $0.11 a share, including a charge.

''Over the past six quarters, we have been involved in fundamentally transforming PTC from an MCAD-only (mechanical computer-aided design) company to one that is strategically positioned for Internet-based Collaborative Product Commerce,'' Chairman and Chief Executive Steven Walske said in a statement.

Parametric, which will report first quarter results Jan. 18, said its revenues for its Windchill business-to-business e-commerce product had revenues of $38 million, compared with $4.9 million in last year's first quarter.

''We are clearly disappointed with our MCAD sales this quarter and we are looking hard at measures designed to improve our focus on the MCAD business,'' Walske said.

At the same time, we are encouraged by our Windchill results and are increasingly optimistic about its business prospects for the full fiscal year."
