Also remember that venture investing uses the shotgun approach where they spread seed money over a wide area knowing that only one or two seeds will grow into redwoods.
The redwoods that do grow, more then makeup for the seeds that die.
The difference here is that most of us do not have the money for general landscaping and must do specific and prudent planting.
