Kevin,

Thanks. I hear you in regard to Professional CEO's do not spend their time posting to message board Q&A sessions, and understand your concern. However business paradigms are shifting by leaps and bounds today and David Wetherell did not manifest what he has created for CMGI today by being conventional.

Who's to say what's "professional" these days? There are traders, analysts and the like who are interviewed on CNBC in short sleeve shirts and sweaters on casual Fridays. Two to five years ago that would have been considered improper. Now it's "cool."

They plan and release company news via legitimate channels and employ professional, competent managers to maintain an investor relations dept.

The times they are a changing.

5 years ago, what brokers would have thought their clients could get information other than from "legitimate channels" such as their research departments or make trades other than through full-commission "legitimate channels?" I've made more money doing my own research on the net and SI than I ever did using my broker's research.

My point is: things are changing so rapidly, message boards are now an accepted and integral part of investors' and traders' research and DD. What David Wetherell is doing is not only keeping up with the pace of change, he's setting it.

JMHO,
Leslie

Kevin,

JB is doing what CMGI's CEO David Weatheral is and has been doing for some time on the RB site. I have not seen any degradation of the thread or any increase in shorters bashing CMGI. I believe companies such as CMGI and MSGI, which are internet incubators and seem to have their act together may buck the trend you pointed out for the other stock IMO.

Steve

KevinT - Your point is well taken; however, the Internet, by definition, embraces change. Perhaps in time we'll see more and more CEOs addressing shareholders on message boards on occasion. However, seeing MSGi's and CMGi's CEO's on the message boards, in isolated or periodic instances, by no means suggests that they sit before their computer monitors all day long sifting through posts. Personally, I like to see CEO's taking a direct interest in its smaller shareholders. And, message boards are, as we are seeing, having an increasing influence on stocks and the dissemination of information - good or bad / true or false.
