Personally I think this is a great strategy. I am going to look at it myself. But from what I understand (and I actually don't understand!) the 80% thing is a bit murky. The reason I've been hesitant about COMS as the play is that usually when a company spins off an IPO, the IPO does great and the company stock itself goes down somewhat. COMS is reputed to have poor management anyway.
