YES! Even x86 Solaris. BSD comes the closest. *nix on Intel does not scale to the same league as Solaris on Sparc.

Getting a little testy, huh? Your SUNW board here, like so many others, can get that way when a dropper-in doesn't root-root-root for the home team. Couldn't possibly be that you're worried that Sun can't walk on the water forever, could it?

On the contrary, as long as otherwise intelligent investors such as yourself keep showing up here with fundamentally misinformed perspectives, I know there's still plenty of blue sky left for SUNW.

No, that is NOT the whole problem. It's when Intel chips are put in machines that have the bus/interconnect architecture of PC's that they are scalability challenged.

Win9x certainly helps to throttle the performance; NT less so, but there is also a real contrast here between RISC and CISC and between the kind of system architecture which RISC manufacturers use and the vast bulk of Intel-based architectures.
