It is plain as day why Intel is pushing back RDRAM computers. I am going to quote Intel support staff if my source.

Hello Nagash.

Thank you for posting your question here.

As a general corporate policy the technical support staff does not comment on
product(s) from competitors, give buying recommendations, or opinions on other
companies? products. When new technologies are released, information concerning
them can be accessed through URL developer.intel.com

If you decide to use your existing memory on your new motherboard, I suggest
checking that it is on the vendors tested memory list. The biggest single issue
we continue to see with all of our motherboards is memory.

Carl, <I already commented months ago, and extensively on Samsung's reasons for pushing RDRAM>

Don't you think the inverse argument can be made for Micron's pushing of DDR? After all, Micron has its own Samurai DDR north bridge, their DDR development is arguably ahead of Samsung, and their RDRAM development is arguably behind.
