Paul - <I have estimated that this will begin in earnest as soon as Intel launches Timna, which will soak up any "slow" RAMBUS memory devices, making the entire spectrum of speed distributions useable/saleable.>

Ahhh. Very good analysis, IMHO. Thank you for pointing this scenario out.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2000--

Technology Designed to Assist Consumers, Retailers, Manufacturers and Broadcasters with Transition to Digital TV

Decisionmark Corporation, a high-tech software and data provider, announced today that it has launched a new Internet-based product called TitanTV.com. The primary function of TitanTV.com is to bridge the gap to digital television (DTV) acceptance by providing the digital information a consumer needs in order to make an educated DTV purchase decision. TitanTV.com provides a list of local digital channels that can be received at the consumer's exact household location. Intel Corp. is sponsoring Decisionmark as it promotes TitanTV.com in the interest of educating consumers about the many aspects, including availability, of DTV. The product was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth number 6111.

TitanTV.com also provides a service called DTV Notify, which alerts consumers when a station's digital broadcast can be received at their location if the station is not "live" at the time of the consumer's initial visit to TitanTV.com. The site also features DTV program listings. Additionally, consumer electronics retailers can access TitanTV.com's Antenna Selector Technology (AST) to match the appropriate digital-ready off-air antenna to the consumer's needs.

Today, consumers have many options for viewing digital broadcasts, including interactive solutions for a personal computer, such as DTV-ready PCs and receiver boards. Intel has worked with the digital television industry for many years providing key consumer research and technologies. Through TitanTV.com, Decisionmark will help build consumer satisfaction with their DTV experience leading to broader support, increased acceptance and market segment penetration of DTV.

Carol A. Jacobson, PC DTV Technology Initiative Manager at Intel, commented, "Interactive digital television represents the next great step in the viewing experience, enabling consumers to dive deeply into high quality content. By providing a service for improving the understanding of digital programming and channel availability, TitanTV.com can enhance that experience."

One of the Decisionmark technologies that powers TitanTV.com is the company's proprietary data warehouse, Coronado. It is rapidly becoming the de facto broadcast industry standard for signal area data.

Coronado's TV engineering database includes affiliate-based information concerning both digital and analog signal parameters. The database started with the Federal Communications Commission public domain information, but has been audited and enhanced extensively by Decisionmark. It is the most accurate signal area database available and Decisionmark is committed to keeping it up-to-date. TitanTV.com also employs Decisionmark's Antenna Selector Technology, which assists retailers with recommending the appropriate antenna to customers seeking signal access to local digital as well as analog broadcast stations in their area. Promoting accurate channel availability information and antenna recommendations via TitanTV.com will reduce the number of DTV device returns and will give credibility to the retailer as well as the products.

Jack Perry, Decisionmark President and CEO, sees TitanTV.com as the springboard for digital TV. "Clearly someone needed to step up and assist both consumers and retailers with answering the main questions about DTV, like which channels can I receive and what content can I watch? Because virtually every network and every local broadcaster works with us, we found ourselves in a position to help," said Mr. Perry.

Decisionmark also announced that other companies which have agreed to participate in the launch of TitanTV.com include Hauppauge, Hauppauge, New York, Winegard, Burlington, Iowa, Amerilink, Columbus, Ohio, United Paramount Network, New York, New York and PAX TV, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Established in 1993 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Decisionmark Corporation is recognized today as a technology leader in the broadcast, satellite and antenna industries, having pioneered the use of Internet-based technology in the broadcast world. Over 95% of network broadcast affiliates subscribe to the software company's web-based SHVIA waiver-analysis product, WaiverTV(TM). Additionally, the software company has developed a suite of Internet applications and sites including www.broadcastwaiver.com(TM) (formerly www.getawaiver.com(TM)), www.ProximityTV.com(TM), WaiverTV(TM)Plus, www.getnetworktv.com(TM), www.antennaselector.com(TM) and www.iwantmyfreetv.com(TM) and now TitanTV(TM).com. Decisionmark develops state-of-the-art software and applications for consumers and business decisionmakers based on its data analysis and mapping technology.
