OPEC summit likely to be postponed Indications are that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries? (OPEC) heads of state and oil ministers summit scheduled for Caracas at the end of March will now be postponed until mid-year. OPEC authorities in the Gulf region said that Venezuela has asked for a change in the date in order to attend to the massive clean up operation required following the torrential rains that left 30,000 people dead on the night of Dec.15.
