I usually start looking to roll mine between 7 and 14 days from expiration... look price run on CS and sell at that time to protect your premium. I may even roll to March and skip Feb.... CS's quarter (and year) ends in Feb so we might see some action in the stock for March earnings release which is typically around the 20th.

Take a look at leaps jan 10 2001 has only a .75 premium. You won/t have to worry over day to day swings as with short term options.
