Yeah, I was an Engineer in a past life and the priorities between application and development is different in all walks.

The programmers and the application engineers never could agree on what was a priority. From our point of view, if we did not ship product then no one got paid. Same thing here.

However, we as Futures or Options traders suffer the effect of being secondary, most likely, in the scheme of things. Whether it's QCharts, PC Quote, BMI.....

After all, it's the Stock Traders that pay the freight I suppose. Not a very consoling thought; as a trader I have to feed my family. I can't rely on a salary. People think this is an easy job. I wager any of us who work at this put in more hours than could be imagined by an outsider.

So, when stuff comes up which is outside our control we are as frustrated as the Programmers who are stuck working into the night to fix it. It's an adversarial relationship; everyone is burned out. Too bad it's not otherwise.

At the risk of sounding like a Pollyanna, I think Quote.com did a good job yesterday of informing at least those of us on SI. After their post at about 8:30, I was watching ES00H normally including complete historical data on mtnview-r08. An email would have been better, but I'm grateful I was working normally as quickly as I was.

We have a valuable resource communicating directly with Quote.com here on this thread. Thanks to Jay and Paul for keeping this channel open post-Gibbons.
