Good suggestion...

If I'm hearing it right, it would be a list our clients could subscribe to that just contains notification emails from us. That would let people unsubscribe if they don't want it, and those that are interested will be notified of any major outages or other items that may affect service. We can't do this now, because our system is an all or nothing database of emails, and the only separation we can do is by subscriptions.

If anyone has any comments, suggestions for improvements, etc... about this feel free to comment.

onelist is an answer. They can be set up as an announcement only list which would allow Quote.com to send an email out but does not accept posts from others.

It would be a way to achieve the notifications or newsletter and etc. The only thing to work out would be telling all users to sign up for list.
