<I'd rather go to the dentist than listen to boring people barf speeches at an annual meeting.>

I used to say that about academic meetings, but recently I have had a couple of dental experiences that have caused me to question my preferences. Almost three hours in the chair yesterday. And then at the end, the amount of money extracted was ghastly. The cost of a laptop for one tooth. Granted, that tooth is going to be a great work of art.

But if that is what it takes to kill the market, so be it.

You know, living in a loony bin for three years, you start to get used to it. The way (as Mark Twain describes it) people got used to constant bombardment during the siege of Vicksburg.
