Try to see this from my perspective. As the person who started the thread, I get dozens and dozens of inbox alerts, every time a post is not directed to a specific person, and I'm no longer interested in receiving them.

That's what you get for jumping in early and starting the thread! :-)

At least now that makes sense why you are so adamant about ending this thread. Can't you get SI to remove your name as author so that the thread may continue and you won't be bothered?

Exactly. Now that you've been upfront, and given a reason that makes sense, I'll go ahead and honor it, and I hope everyone else does too.

Saying "it's my business" and leaving it at that wasn't very persuasive, though.
