I might have taken your comments out of context, but I sense that there is a conflict in our concept of 'time'.

I rarely initiate positions and close them in the same session, unless there is a huge move (either way).

Short-term for me is a few weeks.
Long-term is several years.....I have an active long-term portfolio that consists of DRIPS, bonds, growth stocks, etc. I sometimes use the leverage to take short-term option positions (like in THQI), and an occasional short.

I like the info that passes through here though. It can be applied to any type of trading. The info is honest and free of BS. I try to add to that.
