David,

The key to a big IPO is a great story, huge growth estimates, good PR.....and a small number of shares. IDX shareholders deserve the lions share.....5 million additional to the public would be just fine....Ascom could throw some in if they would like.

IDX could offer some of them to existing shareholders at the pre-open price....(save on underwriting expenses) I would buy a bunch of them.

Done right....with Miller Sedgwick at the controls.....I think you would have a wonderful experience.......much attention.

For the record....

I am assuming that IDX-Bio-ID has the lion's share of the R&D done...and that they will be pushing high margin product out the door. And, that they have some clients, some names, and that the growth is there....or coming.

How do you piss through $75 million....when you are selling product....and are done with costly pilots?

I think Bio-ID is now doing about $20 million per year. If the product is going to begin flying out the door this Spring.......then 200% or 300% sales growth rates are in the can.

But.....you can't have Anadac and Live-Scan dragging the thing down.

Nasdaq technology investors are looking for 300% growth....a small float...a great story....a unique position in the market.....and are willing to pay a hefty premium for it.

But not if it comes with Army boots, drywall companies and slow pay government contract business making up 80% of the deal....it's like putting on lead running shoes.

I don't think even you have a problem seeing that Live-scan and Anadac can stand on their own...and would be a cool little conservative stock.....and $8.00 may be a reasonable price.

And I think if you look around.......and revisit my numbers.....I think you will also see that they are not out of the ballpark....at all.

I hope the new CEO knows that the center of the tech world is really the Nasdaq......and I hope he drives a Porsche....and knows Bill Gates.

The New CEO for Anadac/Livescan can drive a Buick.

I'm right on this one, David......If this is the year....they should do it now....and I think you know this is the year.

And have you been to the headquarters in Sunnyvale? Hello 60s......where's the Fonz? The new company would get the new offices.... near Motorola.

ps. The spin-off should be called "Identix Bio-security Solutions"

Identifinxicator has already been taken by too many humorous posts.

And Another Thing

David,

And another thing.......it is already happening...IMO.

Last year, Fowler, internally, split IDX into 3 divisions.....Government Services, Live-Scan, and Bio-ID.

I think sales, and all other accounting are kept separate now.....and employees all know which division they belong to.

Yes, it may just be a way to organize things better....in order to make everything more clear....but it also could be for breaking up the company.

I remember when my oldest son turned 18......I began to refer to things as mine and his....rather than ours. One day, a few months later, while my son was at the movies, I moved all of his stuff out to the garage.... The next day.....I moved his stuff to the driveway.

He seemed to get the message..(he is a bright kid!)....as the next day he got an apartment with a few of his buddies.

So why did IDX clearly define the 3 different divisions last year?.....I think it was in order to get people used to the idea that one division is growing at this rate, while another is doing this or that......kind of like the first step I took in dealing with my son.

I think they are waiting for just the right time...and for just the right guy.....I think we at least hear about it this year......Perhaps as early as April. The environment for such a move is so good right now.....I think it would be asap.
