I'm not complaining - hope it didn't sound that way. But when you keep reading about 100%, 1000%, 2000% gains - you start to have doubts. I can't help wonder if that's all I made compared to everyone else, I must be doing something wrong. After all, this past year was one of the strongest markets ever - so kind of makes me a bit nervous going forward. The year before, 1998, and prior to discovering SI, I was up 28% and thought I could never do better. So - it may be only 45% (more like 42-43% to be totally honest), but today knocked about 10% out of my portfolio - not a great way to start off the New Year.
