FWIW, I bought AMD stock based on what I see in the marketplace. AMD-equipped computers all over the computer store ads, people having favoravle impressions of AMD CPU's, a recognition that competition by AMD has driven CPU prices down, a lingering negativity towards Intel (remember the Pentium Bug where Intel was originally going to choose who was worthy of getting a replacement), etc.

And now comes along Athlon, a superior CPU at a superior price. I'm in the process of building an Athlon system and so far, I like what I've found. Good compatibility and stability, lower prices, a feeling I'm helping David slay Goliath, etc. My older system is a K6II and the CPU has been a solid performer. The trend is your friend, and if the trend holds, AMD shareholders will be well rewarded.
