monkee, LOL. Does it pass current emission standards?

Upgrades are sometimes more costly than just getting a new one.

You joke about a wood burning computer, but my wife's family used to have some land and a cabin in the high mountains of North Carolina. There was no electricity and (until recently) no phone. One of our 'neighbors' who lived about a mile or so away didn't work and was a trader. He used a laptop which was powered by electricity he generated from a sluice that was fed from a nearby stream. I believe he said he used satellite and some kind of FM carrier to Atlanta for communications. I always got a kick out of this dude - a bushy bearded, old pick up truck driving good ole boy who was probably a millionaire. :-)

I work for a major computer company, and I specifically recall him asking my opinion on some y2k plays he was considering back in '95 or '96.
