With such a small % of the handheld mkt MSFT needs to revolutionize the handheld market or concede this portion to PALM OS. It has to be full commitment or let it go... The PALM is basically only of value to PALM apps. Gather data for Windows or ??? but add value by virtue of additional apps and uses or it may not be worth the $$$ to play in this field,,, go after the appliance apps and get it all...

I think Microsoft should start another business, called Internet education system. Let's the name of the university be called Microsoft Campus. The university just like traditional 4 year university, but the lectures are broadcasted everyday in real time through the internet around the world or lectures on demand. After paying a $500 tuition fee
per semester, students can take unlimited classes each semester. After taking certain semester hours and pass all the test, students will be granted a BS degree.
I expect the students registered in this program will be 2 MM in the first two year globally , and 4 MM in five years, and this will add up to Microsoft's bottom line. Anyone like to invest ? 10 MM to start up this business.

Teflon: Great idea. They could outsource the project to whomever is dropping the product and give it away to whomever signs up for x years of MSN and make it such that this device could be hooked up wirelessly or by wire to the net. Of course Judge Jackson would have to be consulted first. Since INTC has forsaken CE for Linux in their thin client concept box it would appear that MSFT needs to strike out on their own in this area. JFD
