Greenspan cannot be fired. Once appointed and confirmed by Senate, Federal Reserve Bank Governors and Chairman cannot be fired.

Did you swallow that eagle or did it just get stuck somewhere? Try to stick to Novell. Greenspan was just re-appointed. He will certainly go down in economic history for the actions he took to prevent the Asian crisis from spinning out of control. If you want to look back in history, I suggest you put some flowers on H. D. White's grave, the founder of the concept of the US $$$ as the reserve currency of the world, or is he still considered a Communist by the locos?
