Priceless

I really meant that the fact that communication can change the way of life for people is "priceless." The fact that the global village can telephone each other to say hello is "priceless". But I didn't really mean to imply that people would pay any amount of money for the privilege to do that. The feeling it can give one is "priceless." The money one might pay for the feeling wasn't really my point. But if it's half as much as they currently pay I think it works. Priceless.

Actually, I've known people to spend more than their monthly paycheck to find out about the health of a loved one in a distant land. That information to them was priceless. The calls were worth more than a month of hard labor. Still, it's just a figure of speech. And defending the use of this word is a waste of energy. I think a few people at least understood my point.

You cannot put a price on the benefits of global communication. It is priceless. But you can't charge too much.
